"Mate preferences: Trying to see through the noise to find the signal" címmel.

"In this interactive talk, I present the possibility that the chaos of mate preferences research is based on three fundamental errors. First, we rely too much on normative questions. Therefore, I present an alternative method for capturing mate preferences. Second, we overuse factor analyses. Therefore, I present an alternative model of mate preferences that is more expensive and deductively derived. And, third, we may be asking the wrong question in the first place because what we want is not the same as what we want to avoid and what we want varies far more than what we need. To which I present data on dealbreakers and cross-national data on mate preferences. Only with a systematic, agreed upon framework to understand mate preferences can we really make any progress and offer people meaningful advice."
